TASB's Online Learning Center (OLC) is open to school board members and faculty as well as the general public. The OLC hosts a variety of professional development courses designed to aid public school boards in their governance, oversight, and communication roles.
All course choices located in the Courses for School Board Member Credit section are eligible for continuing education credit. To enroll in a course simply create an account, log into the OLC, and select a course. Some courses may require an enrollment key. Many courses allow free guest access without registration. School board members may take up to five hours of their required continuing education credit in the form of an online course. For additional information regarding CEC, follow this link. The course information icons, located to the far right of the course title, provide detailed course descriptions. Please enable pop-up windows to view course descriptions and OLC content.
The TASB Board of Directors, in recognition of the school funding crisis, unanimously approved the use of the Association's fund balance to waive fees to key TASB training events in the 2011-2012 school year for board members and administrators from TASB active-member entities.
This waiver applies to courses in the OLC. Though fees will be waived, registration is still necessary through opening an account in the OLC. These accounts do not have fees.
Now is a great time to give TASB's OLC a try! Register for a course below.
